About Lynnette


Lynnette James Sills is an ordained minister, serving in both Baptist and Methodist congregations. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in Radio, Television and Film and a Master of Divinity degree from Gardner-Webb University.

Lynnette is an award-winning journalist. She received several North Carolina Associated Press awards for her writing and reporting. She was nominated for Baptist Women in Ministry Addie Davis preaching award by her professors at GWU. She participated in both the Leadership Asheville and Leadership North Carolina programs and has served as a volunteer and on the boards of several organizations including the Arden Rotary Club, Leadership Asheville Alumni Association, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, and the Asheville-Buncombe United Way.

She is the mother of Elizabeth and James, who are her greatest joys. She enjoys reading, hiking, tennis, traveling and spending quiet hours on her favorite trail or on her favorite beach.
